Dear Educators,

Award-winning author Terri Farley's latest book Wild at Heart: Mustangs and the Young People Fighting to Save Them will be released on September 22, 2015. This non-fiction book has already been named a Junior Library Guild Selection and Terri's eager to meet with students and teachers in schools and libraries, nationwide.

As a former high school and middle school teacher with IB training, Terri is familiar with Common Core and STEM education, and designs her presentations around these requirements. She addresses school-wide assemblies, works with students in individual classroom programs and provides professional development for teachers.

Terri's new presentation WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A MUSTANG uses the fact-based fictional style pinpointed by ELA reading strategies. Using horses' prehistoric lives, for instances, she invites audiences to make believe--with facts. This presentation features a variety of sciences--from genetics and paleontology to environmental field research. But the academics are behind the scenes. Most of all, Terri's presentations are fun because students are immersed in the dangerous and exciting world of wild horses.

For extending the lessons, Terri is available for writing and leadership workshops following her large group presentation. She also provides a book-based discussion guide.
