Three Brides for Phantom

Dear Readers,
I just talked with Dianne Nelson at the Wild Horse Sanctuary and she says the real Phantom is doing fine. He's no fussy heated-barn boy, and doesn't much care about his mud-covered mane and tail!
The Phantom hasn't moved into his 5,000 acre home, yet. He's in a corral which shares a fenceline with the huge mustang sanctuary. Because the wild horses live in family herds and bachelor bands, just as they would in the wild, stallions challenge each other. Dianne is giving the Phantom and the other stallions a chance to meet over a fence, safe from each other's teeth and hooves.
So far, the Phantom has been pretty laid back about the other stallions. To keep him that way, Dianne decided to offer him two mustang mares in need of good homes, to keep Shy, his Nevada mare, company.
Dianne didn't want the Phantom to gallop into the sanctuary, notice other stallions had begger bands than he did, and start making enemies in his new neighborhood by stealing mares!
His second bride, a white mare, is with him now, but they haven't really hit it off. Maybe blind dates beween horses are no more predictable than they are with people!
His third mare's arrival has been delayed by bad weather, but she'll be joining him on the slopes of Mount Lassen, soon.
Dianne has promised me I can be there to take photos when the Phantom is freed and of course, I'll tell you what happens!
Best,
Terri
