Call in for Horses Wednesday is National Call In Day Dear Readers, Just over a month ago the U.S. House of Representatives voted to ban horse slaughter. Now the same bill is up for a vote in the Senate. Horses won in the House largely because of your phone calls. That's the good news. Now, for the bad news: Senators are reporting they are hearing equally from people who support horses and and those in favor of slaughter. How can you help? Call your two U.S. Senators today: To find your Senators' phone numbers, go to the following link and enter your zip code in the box in the upper left column: http://www.congress.org/congressorg/home/ Ask them to "please cosponsor S.1915 the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act and protect horses from slaughter." Spread the word: one phone call is not enough. We need hundreds. Tell your friends, family, people at Halloween parties --everyone to call their Senators. October 25 (Wednesday) and November 14 (Tuesday) are national call-in days for horses. Don't quit. Call this week, call next week, and call the following week. Let's keep up the pressure!
