Wild Horses in your Neighborhood? Dear Readers, Many of you don't live in ranch or farm country, but some of you do, so when I spotted this news, some instinct told me to pass it on to you. The BLM is looking for wild horse pastures west of the Mississippi River. Each pasture must be able to provide humane care for and maintain up to 1,500 wild horses and burros over a one-year period, starting about Nov. 1. That contract could be renewed. Right now, most holding pastures are in Kansas and Oklahoma, but if you know someone with that much acreage, BLM will pay them well (I can be proud of THAT use of my tax dollars) for the use of their land AND you may have wild horses living nearby! If you know interested landowners, they can get more information from BLM at www.fbo.gov on or about Wednesday. Happy trails, Terri Permalink to this blog post Posted by Terri Farley @ 11:12 AM Comments: Post a Comment |
